Musicality, the key to dancing success:
We will listen to the music with a different objective in mind. There are so many levels of depth that are contained within a song. The exercises in this workshop help dancer's rhythm and timing, heightening awareness so that leaders and followers can dance to different parts of the same music. Dancers can play off each other's musicality, creating the dance together.

Advanced

Barridas with Enganches:
We will develop a technique that can combine barridas and enganches, or leg weaving, while maintaining a dynamic as well as elegant style. We will learn barridas for leaders as well as followers, and use both static and fluid enganches.

Beginners - intermediates

Giros and paradas:
We will focus on the follower's turn around the man as well as how to lead the turn. We will also work on paradas, or stops. In both cases we will learn how to maintain the direction of the dance. With these few concepts, dancers will then be able to dance fluidly on the floor even when there is not very much space.

Advanced

Ganchos from Colgadas:
We will work to refine the technique for colgadas so that students can control every movement. We will be able to end the colgadas in low or high ganchos and work with all possible dynamics.

Advanced

Hyper-disassociated enrosques and sacadas:
We will learn to use the energy of the turn to adorn in the opposite direction. We will look for opportunities for extremely disassociated sacadas and exicute them with minimal force.
